Moving into Fall, finally!
We enjoy the last week of what has been a horribly hot summer! Temperatures over 100 degrees broke records! The wildfires have been frightening close to our area and have left hundreds of people without homes. And we are behind needed rain by almost 20 inches. But you know, life goes on, and we are optimistic and anxious for a change in seasons! Bring on the cooler mornings and the falling leaves...and please bring on the rain! With Fall, our area comes alive with all sorts of celebrations! Red River Revel brings a festive atmosphere to the community! Lots of great arts, great food and great entertainment are just around the corner! Follow that with the Fall Farmers Market and Brew Festival! Then we welcome the Louisiana State Fair for their "A Fair to Remember" theme kicking off the end of October! That carries us right into the holiday season! What a great time of the year for the Shreveport Bossier area! Make sure you enjoy some of the great treasures waiting for you! Let us know what you have going on! Geaux Tigers!!! Who Dat Saints!

Hot Monday in the Twin Cities!
Greetings from hot, humid Bossier City! It is so hot here this summer, that I just know we could fry some eggs on the asphalt in the parking lot. But that would mean we would have to go stand out in the parking lot and watch them cook! I'm thinking maybe not! I am seriously starting to wonder if we will ever see another raindrop! Thunderstorms would be a welcome sight for sore eyes! I could do with a good storm, even though that means that 2 of my 4 four legged babies turn into a trembling, scared puppies all over again. They remind me of the old coin operated massage beds that used to be in old Mom and Pop motor hotels...back in the day! One good thing about summer though, is all of the fresh, yummy vegetables. A group of my friends and I went to the Farmer's Market this past weekend. What treasures we found...fresh tomatoes, new potatoes and green beans, okra, boudin and canned soup vegetables. Not to mention the fresh corn! I was a cooking fool on Sunday with all of these great finds! Oh, and I think I did buy the worlds greatest cantaloupe this weekend! Us Southerners do appreciate good home cooking!

Typical Tuesday
We've been busy in Bossier City! A few months ago, we adopted a new General Manager, and we're finally settling in together. She's from New York, but we won't hold it against her! We already had her eating alligator on a stick and smothered chicken. You know how us southerners are with our food! That's one of the best features about our area, the great restaurants. We've got plenty of good suggestions, from Ralph and Kacoo's to Copeland's Bistro. Ask our front desk for suggestions when you check in. Everyone has a hot spot, what's yours? Maybe we'll add it to our famous Towne Map.

Hello
Hello! This is our debut into the world of blogging. TownePlace Suites by Marriott-Bossier City has an enhanced product for extended stay guests. It is called "Real Living"! We provide our guests with thoughtful spaces for both working and living. We provide an environment that provides our guests control and choices designed for Real Living, instead of hotel living. Real Living is Simple, Fresh, Friendly Real and Local. We have found that our guests want a simple, fresh, friendly place to live where they can settle in, keep in their routine and easily connect to our local area. And that is exactly what we do our very best to provide! From the time you walk into our lobby...we like to call it the Perch and Seating area, you are welcomed into a friendly, homey atmosphere! Our warm, friendly team wants to do whatever it takes to make you, our new friend, as comfortable as we possibly can while you are away from home and your normal day to day activities. Our functional, comfortable suites are perfect for living and working! OK, OK, OK...enough of all of this! We want to make this a fun site where you can find out what's going on in Your Neighborhood! So, this site is now officially open and will continue to tell you a little more about us weekly!
